Heather Pearson
I became a therapist because I think having a person in your corner who listens closely, doesn't flinch, and helps you make sense of what you're carrying is important.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario practising under clinical supervision. My approach is warm, collaborative and fairly down-to-earth.
It’s not unusual for there to be both laughter and crying in my sessions, often in the same session. Hard things are easier to look at when you're allowed to find some of it ridiculous.
I work from a trauma-informed stance and draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Cognitive Processing Therapy because different problems need different tools.
Who I work with
People navigating transitions and midlife reassessment, anxiety and overthinking, grief and loss, trauma and its aftereffects, relationship patterns, burnout, and the general experience of no longer quite recognizing your own life.
I provide online therapy to adults living across Ontario.
